Terms & Conditions

Quote Validity

Quotes are valid for 30 days from the date issued unless otherwise stated in writing.

Quote Accuracy

Quotes are based on the information, photos and site conditions available at the time of quoting. If conditions on the day differ from what was described or visible, we'll talk it through with you before adjusting anything.

Photo-Based Quotes

Quotes provided from photos are estimates only. They may be adjusted if site conditions, access, waste volumes or the actual scope of work differ materially from what the photos showed.

Additional Work

Any work requested outside the quoted scope may incur additional charges. We'll always discuss extra work with you before going ahead, where it's practical to do so.

Green Waste Removal

Green waste removal is included only where it is specifically stated in your quote.

Waste Volume Variations

• Quotes are based on the estimated volume of green waste visible at the time of quoting.
• Where actual waste volumes materially exceed what could reasonably be estimated from site inspections, photographs or information supplied by the client, additional charges may apply.
• Any additional costs will be discussed with the client before proceeding where practicable.

Property Access

Clients are responsible for providing safe and reasonable access to the work area at the agreed time, including unlocking gates, moving vehicles and securing pets.

Hidden Services & Underground Infrastructure

• The client is responsible for identifying and clearly marking any underground services, irrigation systems, drainage, power cables, fibre cables, lighting cables, dog fence wiring, water pipes, septic systems or other hidden infrastructure before work begins.
• The Hedge Guys accepts no liability for damage to hidden or unidentified services that were not disclosed prior to commencement of works.

Unforeseen Conditions

Hidden obstacles, irrigation, lighting cables, pet containment systems, retaining wall defects, nesting birds, wasp nests or other unforeseen conditions may affect pricing, timing or our ability to complete the work as quoted.

Weather

Work may be postponed or rescheduled due to weather or safety concerns. We'll always aim to give you as much notice as possible.

Cancellation & Rescheduling

• Clients may cancel or reschedule appointments with reasonable notice.
• Cancellations within 24 hours of the scheduled service may incur a cancellation fee of up to 20% of the quoted value to cover labour allocation, travel and lost scheduling opportunities.
• Weather-related postponements initiated by The Hedge Guys will not incur cancellation fees.

Payment

Payment is due by the due date specified on the bill unless otherwise agreed in writing.

Late Payment & Debt Recovery

• Payment is due by the due date specified on the bill.
• The Hedge Guys reserves the right to charge reasonable debt recovery costs, collection fees and interest on overdue accounts where permitted under New Zealand law.

Photography & Marketing

• The Hedge Guys may take photographs of completed work for quality assurance, quoting references, website content, social media and marketing.
• No personal information will be disclosed.
• Clients may request in writing that photographs of their property are not used for marketing purposes.

Pets & Site Safety

• Clients are responsible for ensuring pets, children and other occupants remain clear of active work areas.
• The Hedge Guys accepts no responsibility for incidents resulting from unauthorised access to work zones during service delivery.

Ownership of Removed Material

All green waste, debris, branches and materials removed from site become the property of The Hedge Guys upon removal, unless otherwise agreed in writing.

Right to Refuse Unsafe Work

The Hedge Guys reserves the right to refuse, postpone or cease work where conditions are considered unsafe, including but not limited to severe weather, dangerous trees, aggressive animals, unsafe access, structural instability, hazardous materials or undisclosed risks.

Force Majeure

The Hedge Guys shall not be liable for delays or inability to perform services caused by circumstances outside reasonable control, including severe weather events, natural disasters, accidents, road closures, supplier shortages, government restrictions or emergencies.

Insurance

The Hedge Guys maintains appropriate public liability insurance and takes reasonable care while working on your property. Liability is limited to the extent permitted by New Zealand law and does not extend to pre-existing defects, hidden conditions or matters outside our reasonable control.

Limitation of Liability

• The Hedge Guys will take reasonable care when performing services.
• To the maximum extent permitted by New Zealand law, liability is limited to direct loss arising from proven negligence and excludes indirect, consequential or unforeseeable losses.
• The Hedge Guys is not liable for pre-existing defects, hidden conditions, structural weaknesses, diseased vegetation, underground services or matters outside its reasonable control.

Acceptance of Terms

Acceptance of a quotation, booking confirmation, email approval, text message approval or commencement of work constitutes acceptance of these Terms & Conditions.
